The recording studio at Tŷ Cerdd Recording Studio /

Under the supervision of James Clarke, Tŷ Cerdd is now able to offer a fully fitted and equipped recording studio which includes a 7' 4" Boesendorfer piano. In addition to the "in house" recordings available to members, the studio is available for commercial sessions and a number have already been booked.

The per-session charge for these starts at around £25.00, with a full day's booking at around £180.00, although the exact current charges should be checked with Tŷ Cerdd before booking.

The studio will have a multi-purpose role which will include:

  • Commercial recording
  • Archive recording of Welsh Music
  • Workshops on Welsh music
        and music generally
  • Music technology inset work for teachers
        and schools
  • Preparing, rehearsing and recording student
        A Level composition work
  • Rehearsing
  • Auditioning
  • Small scale recitals and "meet the composer"
        sessions


  • As the recording equipment is portable, recordings can be made throughout Wales, and "post produced" back in the Tŷ Cerdd studio.
